Mini Pop Kids cross-Canada tour arrives at northern Ontario
The group includes five young people who cover pop songs

A group of young singers, called the Mini Pop Kids, will be in northern Ontario as part of a cross-Canada tour.
Five young singers and dancers cover pop songs from the likes of Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Sabrina Carpenter, among others.
"Picture, you know, 500 to 1,000 little kids who are given the freedom to dance and sing along out of their seats," said Mike Ross, the director of Mini Pop Kids.
Ross said at each of their shows, they also work with local performers, and give them an opportunity to reach new audiences.
"We love to be able to give these organizations and these groups an opportunity to sort of, you know, share what they do in their community," Ross said.
For the two performances in Sudbury, on Saturday, the Young Sudbury Singers choir will share the stage with the Mini Pop Kids for a couple of songs.
"Our kids are excited to have a chance to maybe meet some of the Mini Pops and to perform for this audience. It's a different audience than we'd normally perform for," said Heather Charsley, the director of the Young Sudbury Singers.
Mini Pop Kids member Ari Abudaqa said she loves interacting with her young fans at the concerts.
"I just love seeing all the kids having the best time in the audience, waving at them, cheering them, seeing them screaming to their favourite songs, especially Taylor Swift," she said.
The Mini Pop Kids have two performances in Sudbury on Saturday, Feb. 15 and will be in Sault Ste. Marie on Monday, Feb. 17.
