Getting moose tag online has glitch, MPP says

The MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane says he is concerned about changes to the application process for the Ministry of Natural Resources moose tag system.

Moose tag applicants have to go through another step to be entered into the draw

The MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane says he's concerned about changes to the application process for the Ministry of Natural Resources moose tag system.

John Vanthof said paper applications are no longer being used or accepted and the online process is proving to be problematic.

If someone wants to get their hands on a big game tag, they have to go online, phone the MNR, visit Services Ontario or a licence issuer.

"Basically, [online] you [can] apply for the moose licence, and you can confirm that you've made your purchase, [and] you can get a receipt, but there's still a step after that in the process to be entered into the draw," he said.

Vanthof said he's heard from constituents who paid to apply for the tag, but didn't realize they had to go through another step to be entered into the draw.
