Mining has been a male-dominated profession for years. But times are changing and Lynne Bouchard is part of that change.
The 25-year-old has become the first female captain of a team in the Ontario mine rescue competition.
Bouchard began her career in mining as an intern at Vale in Sudbury. Now she works in the the engineering department at St. Andrew Goldfields in Black-River Matheson.
The provincial mine rescue competition is being held this week at Dome Mine in Timmins.
