English public elementary teachers across the province start job action today and even though they will still be in the classroom teaching, they are withdrawing administrative services.
Extra-curricular activities, field trips and grading will continue, but teachers will not provide comments on report cards and will not participate in provincial standardized testing.
The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario said it's the first phase of job action as it fights for a new contract.
The union has not outlined what the next phase of job action could include.
Meanwhile, a strike by English public high school teachers in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin is now entering a third week.
