Daisy the sheepdog chows down on Christmas treats — twice

When Brenda Lecour’s children were growing up, she decided to do some Christmas baking one afternoon. She never expected her sheepdog Daisy would eat the efforts of her hard labour.

When Brenda Lecour's children were growing up, she decided to do some Christmas baking one afternoon. She never expected her sheepdog Daisy would eat the efforts of her hard labour.

"She never got up at the table," Lecour said. "She was a very, very good sheepdog."

After Lecour did her baking, she didn't think twice about packing up her three young children to go next door to visit a neighbour. Lecour left all the baking on racks, including lemon squares and Christmas cookies, on the counter.

"When I came back … all the baking had been eaten," she said. "[Daisy] ate everything."

Daisy was fine, but did have an upset stomach. One year later, Lecour again did her Christmas baking and set the goodies on a rack. Much to her dismay, Daisy chowed down again.

"It was hysterical because … the same thing had happened," she said. "I couldn't believe that I had forgotten. Obviously, she must have had a scent for sweets like that."
