Cost of waterfront property is drifting out of reach of average northerner

Many northerners spent the first long weekend of the summer at their camp (or, if you prefer, cottage).

And many more spent the weekend wishing that's where they were.

It's that second group that is keeping real estate agents across the northeast busy at this time of year, hoping to get a getaway of their own.

But the number of people who can afford a summer place is going down as the prices go up.
