Cinéfest Sudbury features short films on shortest day of the year
This weekend marks the winter solstice, also known as the shortest day of the year. To celebrate, Cinéfest Sudbury is hosting a festival featuring short films.

In collaboration with Telefilm Canada, The National Film Board of Canada, SODEC Québec and Science North, Cinéfest Sudbury will present nine family-friendly short films from award-winning filmmakers, including Josef and Aimée, a Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival 2014 Official Selection. The rest of the lineup includes:
- The Danish Poet [Torill Kove, Canada, 2007, 15 minutes]
- Sleeping Betty [Claude Cloutier, Canada, 2007, 9 minutes]
- The Sweater [Sheldon Cohen, Canada, 1980, 10 minutes]
- The Bear Facts [Jonathan Wright, Canada, 2010, 4 minutes]
- The Great Thinkers [Karina Garcia Casanova, Canada, 2009, 8 minutes, in French with English Subtitles]
- Josef and Aimée [Ben Shirinian, Canada, 2014, 16 minutes, in French with English Subtitles]
- Godhead [Connor Gaston, Canada, 2014, 10 minutes]
- The Magic Ferret [Alison Parker, Canada, 2013, 12 minutes]
- In Your Heart [Raymond Caplin, Canada, 2012, 3 minutes]
The Shortest Day films will be screened at the Science North Vale Cavern located at Science North on Saturday, December 20th starting at 2:00 p.m.
