Laurentian University's new challenge course 1st of its kind in Canada
The Tango Tower is not just for students — the public can also benefit from this challenge course
In an effort to boost its Outdoor Adventure Leadership program, the Laurentian University human kinetics program commissioned the company Challenges Unlimited inc. to build its Tango Tower challenge course.
The tower will be used as a training tool for students, says program co-ordinator Jim Little. Some of the students will also become trainers and will facilitate the course for members of the public who want to rent it.
Kevin French, the marketing and sales director for Challenges Unlimited Inc., told CBC News the tower is the first of its kind in Canada.
The tower has different levels that groups can tackle — together. The challenge course is designed to show people how to help each other through problematic situations.
The tower takes "people out of their comfort zone, and what is the norm, and puts them into disequilibrium," French said.
The job of the trainers is to help the group make valuable connections, he added. Watch the videos below for more.
