CBC Sudbury gives Morning North garden harvest to food bank

The first harvest of the season from the Morning North garden went to the Inner City Home of Sudbury.

The first harvest of the season from CBC Sudbury's Morning North garden went to the Inner City Home of Sudbury.

Radish, lettuce and green onions will be distributed to some of their food bank clients. Inner City Home provides emergency food hampers to 900 people each month.

Executive director Mary Ali said food donations typically drop off after May.

"Donations of food, donations of money are always down in the summer months," however the number of clients does not change.

Ali said food donations are always welcome.

Inner City Home has a walk-in fridge and three large freezers so they are able to accept fresh produce through the harvest season.
