Sudbury fire crews called to apartment fire in Falconbridge

Greater Sudbury Fire Services was called to a structure fire early this morning on Copper Street in Falconbridge. The fire damaged two units in the two story apartment building and left one person displaced.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services was called to a structure fire early this morning on Copper Street in Falconbridge.

Platoon Chief Andre Groulx says 22 firefighters from three fire stations were called around midnight to respond to the fire.

The fire damaged two units in the-two story apartment building.

One person was evacuated and they are now displaced.

Groulx says the second apartment unit was vacant.

Fire and smoke damage is listed around $210,000.

Groulx says an unattended pot on the stove is to blame for the fire.

There were no injuries.
