89-year-old woman dead after being hit by vehicle

An 89-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Saskatoon. In a separate incident, a man was transported to hospital after being hit by a car on 22nd Street.

An 89-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Saskatoon.

She was walking across Preston Avenue at East Drive on Friday when a vehicle hit her.

Police say a 71-year-old man was driving.

Traffic was restricted in the area for several hours Friday evening as city police investigated.

Life-threatening injuries in separate incident

Also on Friday night, a man was hit by a car while walking across the street on the 2200 block of 22nd Street.

He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say a 16-year-old was driving. 

They continue to investigate this case as well.
