What's the right age to buy a child a smartphone or tablet?

Christmas is only days away. Many kids had smartphones and tablets on their wish lists. But will they find those devices under the tree on Thursday morning?

Some pediatricians say there are negative effects to introducing kids to technology at an early age? While other professionals say there are benefits. 

Saskatoon Morning asked its audience the following questions this morning: What is the right age for a child to have their own smartphone or tablet? Does your child have one? Did you buy one for your child this Christmas or did your kid ask for one but you decided it's not the right time?
