B.C. watchdog says welfare agency and the province failed to ensure child was protected
A B.C. child watchdog said a two-year-old girl, who was transferred to Saskatchewan, fell through the cracks.
Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond, B.C.'s representative for children and youth, spoke with Saskatoon Morning host Leisha Grebinski about how the child ended-up in the care of her grandfather despite his lengthy criminal record and addiction.
The girl was thin and malnourished when she was taken away 18-months later.
