Should Temporary Foreign Worker program suspension go beyond restaurant industry?
The federal government has suspended the temporary foreign worker program for the food services industry. This is in light of a series of CBC stories reporting that some McDonald's franchisees were allegedly abusing the program.
Federal Employment Minister Jason Kenny said in a written statement that "serious concerns" remain following a government investigation into allegations against the program. The moratorium will remain in effect until the government completes its review.
What do you think? Is the government making the right move? Do you think it should suspend the Temporary Foreign Worker Program entirely and investigate how it is being used in other industries? Leave your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of this page.
