Should Netflix be forced to show more Canadian programs?
The Canadian Radio-television and telecommunications Commision (CRTC) recently held hearings looking at the future of TV in Canada. The impact of Internet-based video providers was the focus.
The CRTC regulates how much Canadian content is aired by broadcasters. A Netflix executive said that regulations to increase Canadian content will hurt consumers.
He said that viewers should "vote with their dollars and eyeballs to shape the media marketplace."
Saskatoon Morning asked its audience the following questions: What do you think? Should the CRTC regulate Canadian content on Internet-based video services? Would you like to see more Canadian content on Netflix? Or should the CRTC leave Netflix alone?
