Several Saskatchewan RCMP units searching for 3 armed suspects
A farmer tells police he was approached by three men wearing balaclavas and carrying handguns
Numerous police from different forces and detachments are hunting for three men after they approached a farmer with guns on a rural road near Fiske, Sask., about 146 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon.
At around 11:40 a.m. CST RCMP were called about three unknown suspects wearing black balaclavas who approached a worker from a local farm who was driving. Each suspect who approached his vehicle on foot was carrying a handgun according to police.
The farmer managed to leave the scene in his vehicle and witnessed the three suspects get into and drive away in an older style black SUV.
All rural schools were placed under a hold and secure order for precautionary reasons. As of 3 p.m. those restrictions were lifted.
One of the suspects is described as having a long pony tail, while another suspect was described as having orange curly hair.
Rosetown, Kindersley, Eston, Kerrobert, Biggar, Swift Current rural and North Battleford rural detachments as well as the Swift Current police and volunteers flying planes responded to the call and continue to search for the suspects and the black SUV.
RCMP ask anyone with information about this incident to please call the local RCMP detachment and to not approach the suspects.
