No injuries after car crashes through storefront in Saskatoon
Driver, 71, ticketed for driving without due care: police
A driver has been ticketed, but no one was injured after a car crashed into a store in Saskatoon on Tuesday.
A Honda Civic crashed into the storefront of the SaskMade Marketplace on Eighth Street E. at approximately 11:30 a.m.
"We've had a bit of a oops today at the store," the store said in a Facebook post about an hour after the crash.
A spokesperson for the Saskatoon Police Service said the driver of the vehicle was attempting to pull into a parking spot when she accidentally accelerated through the window of the store.
Michaela Braaten, an employee with the SaskMade Marketplace, told CBC that no one was injured in the incident.
Police say the 71-year-old driver was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.
A tow truck was called to remove the Civic.
By the time CBC arrived on Tuesday afternoon, workers were beginning to clean up the scene and boarding up the hole left behind by the car.
Braaten said the store may be able to open later on Tuesday, but would likely hold off until Wednesday.
