Saskatoon marched with pride for annual parade
People and puppies pounded the pavement for the Saskatoon Pride Parade
People took to the Saskatoon streets to march in the city's annual Pride Parade today. The theme was super sweet 16.
The event followed more than a week of events and activities held for the 2016 Saskatoon Pride Festival.
The band HOJA, originally based in Saskatoon, played a pre-show at the judges' corner in front of the Hilton Garden Inn just prior to the parade.
The "super queer sweet 16" parade was sponsored by Tourism Saskatoon.
After the parade, entertainers were expected to take to the main stage. HOJA was first on the lineup. They were expected to begin around 2 p.m. CST and were to be followed by LJ Tyson, LAL, The Cliks and DJ R2.
Singer-songwriter Bif Naked was slated to hit the stage at 5:30 p.m. to wrap up the celebration.
Main stage entertainment is free and takes place in Kiwanis Park.
The annual festival ends on Sunday.
