The home opener of the Saskatchewan Rush, Saskatoon's new National League lacrosse team, is underway at the city's major arena SaskTel Centre, in front of a crowd of more than 9,000.

They face the Vancouver Stealth. At the end of the first half, the Rush lead 9-7.

The Rush are defending league champs and moved from Edmonton to Saskatoon last summer.

The next game for the Rush is at home again on Friday, Jan. 29, when they host Colorado.
