Saskatoon basement suite fire causes apartment to be evacuated

A basement apartment fire in west end of Saskatoon on Thursday evening has caused about $10,000 in damage.

The fire department received a 911 call just after 7 p.m. CST  about a basement fire on the 700 block of Confederation Drive. 

When firefighters arrived, there was still people evacuating the three-storey apartment building.  

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one of the basement suites.

After the apartment was ventilated occupants were allowed to return to their suites. 

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
