Saskatchewan Rush triumph over Georgia Swarm

The Saskatchewan Rush lacrosse team picked another win, this time against the Georgia Swarm.

Mark Matthews had four goals and four assists to lead the Saskatchewan Rush past the Georgia Swarm 14-8 on Saturday night in National Lacrosse League play.

Zack Greer added a hat trick for the Rush (6-3), with Ryan Dilks and Ben McIntosh adding two goals apiece. John LaFontaine, Robert Church, and Jeff Cornwall rounded out the attack.

Randy Staats scored a hat trick for Georgia (4-6), with Shayne Jackson tacking on a pair. Lyle Thompson, Jason Noble and Kiel Matisz supplied the rest of the offence.

Saskatchewan's Aaron Bold kicked out 32 shots for the win in net. Zach Higgins suffered the loss in relief after stopping 21-of-29 shots in 36:31. Brodie MacDonald started for the Swarm and made 23 saves.

Saskatchewan scored twice on four power plays while Georgia was 1 for 8.

The Rush are on the road next week. They'll take on the Vancouver Stealth on Saturday, March 19.

Saskatchewan returns home on Saturday, March 26 to play the Toronto Rock for the first time this season.

The stands were packed with fans for the game.
