Saskatchewan forest fire evacuees split from families

Kaylie Janvier was separated from her family after she was forced to leave her home in northern Saskatchewan because of forest fires in the area. 

The La Loche resident is now living in a Prince Albert shelter, while her family is staying at one in Saskatoon. She's hoping to head home soon. 

"I feel lost. [I'm] missing my parents and my family," she said. 

The Red Cross has a telephone number people can call if they have been separated from family members due to evacuation orders. People can call the Red Cross at 1-888-953-3463. 

There are 51 communities with evacuations. More than 5,000 people are currently registered with Social Services and the Red Cross.
