Sask. RCMP officer charged with sexual assault

An RCMP officer with the Buffalo Narrows detachment has been charged with sexual assault after an investigation into an incident that happened at social gathering.

An RCMP officer with the Buffalo Narrows detachment has been charged with sexual assault after an investigation into an incident that happened in May.

According to an RCMP news release, police received a complaint of an incident on June 1 that allegedly happened at a social gathering on May 20 in Dillon, Sask., roughly 500 km north of Lloydminster. 

Police launched a criminal investigation and Const. Randy McKay was charged Oct. 21 with one count of sexual assault. He has been released on several conditions.

McKay is currently suspended with pay and scheduled to appear in provincial court on Dec. 9, 2015 in Buffalo Narrows.
