In their second home game of the season, the Saskatchewan Rush bested the Colorado Mammoth in a tight game that saw both sides tied for most of it, with the Rush edging their opponents 12-10.

The Rush now sit in second place in the National Lacrosse League's west division at 2-1, behind Colorado (4-1), and ahead of Calgary (2-2) and Vancouver (1-3).

After the first quarter of Friday night's game, the two sides remained close, with the visiting squad up 3-2. The Rush then tied the game at six a piece in the second quarter, and the two sides kept the tie going until the end of the third quarter, when it was nine-all.

The Mammoth opened the scoring 48 seconds into the fourth quarter with a goal from Jeremy Noble. But that was all the visiting side could muster for offensive success in the final frame.

The Rush stormed back with three unanswered goals, starting with Mark Matthews' unassisted score at 8:29, and held on to win.

Matthews was Saskatchewan's top offensive player of the night: he scored four goals and notched two assists, along with a total of 10 shots on goal.

Zack Greer added three goals and one assist over five shots on goal for the Rush.

Despite the win, the Rush's power play struggled, going 0-3. Colorado capitalized on four out of five power play opportunities.

The Rush's next home game is Friday at 8:30 p.m. CST against the Calgary Roughnecks.
