It was a successful return to form for the Saskatchewan Rush in a pre-season game against the Georgia Swarm.

The Rush finished off the Georgia Swarm 24-9 on Saturday night in the rematch (of sorts).

After the Rush won back-to-back league titles in 2015 and 2016, the Swarm beat Saskatchewan 2-0 in the best-of-three final last spring in the Champion's Cup, dethroning the Rush and capturing its first title.

The Rush worked quickly to get back at the team who took them down, scoring seven goals in the opening quarter.

Mark Matthews scored four goals and Ryan Keenan, Curtis Knight, Marty Dinsdale and Robert Church all added hat tricks.

"We've had some good training camps the last couple of weeks," said Church, in a statement. "It kind of feels like we were in mid-season form and we had some chemistry out there."

The Rush will continue their training camp before getting the 2018 regular season underway on Dec. 16 in Toronto, facing the Rock.

"I think we accomplished what we wanted to," said Rush GM and head coach Derek Keenan, also in a statement. "All the young guys were really good.

"We've got a month to prepare for Toronto and hopefully we'll be ready."

The Rush will return to Saskatchewan for their home-opener on December 23rd against the New England Black Wolves.
