4 floors being added to River Landing condo project
Meewasin Valley Authority approves plan for 20-storey building
A Saskatoon condominium project is growing taller before it's even constructed.
On Friday, the Meewasin Valley Authority approved an application to increase the number of floors for the River Landing condo building that will be developed at Parcel Y, just east of the Remai Modern Art Gallery.
According to documents from Lemaymichaud Architecture Design, the condo will now feature 20 storeys and 124 units — up from the previous 16 storeys and 105 units.
The condo development sold out in four days last November. The suites sold anywhere from $250,000 to $1 million.
Along with two penthouses, the condo building features a gym, a social lounge, a lobby and a restaurant. The restaurant will be located on street level.
The application also decreased the height of the hotel project, which will adjoin the condo. The hotel will now be 14 storeys, down from the initial 15.
According to the Meewasin Valley Authority, the new plan will need to be approved by the city.
The condo tower is expected to be completed by 2019.
