PM Justin Trudeau and Mexico’s President Enrique Pena Nieto put diplomacy on hold to enjoy a morning jog in Ottawa.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was seen wearing a Saskatchewan Jazz Festival T-shirt this morning in Ottawa during a morning jog with the Mexican president.

The marketing manager of the festival, which is on in Saskatoon until Sunday, said the sighting is a great boost for the event.

"It's awesome," said Jacqueline Conway. "He's supporting our event and supporting our province. It's really, really cool. It kind of unites us as a city."

Trudeau and President Enrique Pena Nieto will be meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama at the Three Amigos summit this week.

Trudeau received the T-shirt during a trip to Saskatoon in April. The prime minister was in the lobby of the Delta Bessborough Hotel, and made his way over to the festival's box office.

"He had just popped in to say hi, and ask a little bit about the festival," said Conway. "One of our staff was able to give him a shirt, and then he actually prompted her to snap a photo. He was very gracious."

This year's Saskatchewan Jazz Festival lineup includes Ms. Lauryn Hill, City and Colour, Metric, Big Boi, and Tedeschi Trucks Band.
