Power consumption remained constant during Earth Hour says SaskPower
The annual event where people turn out the lights and switch off their electronics took place over the weekend.
On Saturday, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., people from around the world took part in Earth Hour, including people from across the province.
However, SaskPower said that power consumption remained constant during Earth Hour. A local environmentalist, who will be on the show later, says that Earth Hour isn't the best tool for promoting energy efficiency.
Saskatoon Morning asked its audience the following questions: Has Earth Hour run out of energy as a way to raise awareness about energy consumption? Did you participate? What do you do to save energy - or do you do nothing at all?
