Saskatoon police no longer on scene at house near St. Paul's Hospital
1 woman arrested early in day, no other suspects found in house after hours on scene
Saskatoon police spent much of Thursday at a house on the 300 block of Avenue R South investigating a disturbance with a possible firearm involved.
Officers were called to the area near St. Paul's Hospital early Thursday morning with reports of a man with a firearm. That call led them to a bungalow on the tree-lined street.
Police closed off the block between 20th and 19th Streets. They parked the Bear Cat emergency response truck in front of the house and began making requests over a loudspeaker.
"This is the city police. Come out the front door. We are not leaving."
Around mid-morning, a young woman emerged from the front door with her hands in the air. Police took her into custody.
Shortly after, they began addressing two men they believed were still in the house.
At 4:30 p.m. CST, police said the situation was over, the scene had been cleared and traffic restrictions had been lifted.
In the end, police said they weren't able to locate anyone in the house.
