Nutana Collegiate students showcase special school
Saskatoon Morning highlights high school that won CBC contest
Students at Nutana Collegiate got the chance to showcase the innovative projects at their school this morning.
Saskatoon Morning was broadcasting live from the high school this morning after winning a contest that asked why their school was a great place to take classes.
School pride on display
Nutana is unique in the Saskatoon Public School system. Most of the students have either been asked to leave other schools, or find that they have a hard time learning in other environments.
Students start classes later in the day, and have fewer, longer classes. The school also has a variety of supports for students, from counsellors to a daycare for students' children.
"It's wonderful. I'm very proud of the students and the school of course, and it's very exciting," said Eman Demmans, who teaches English at the school.
