Stonebridge branch to open next year
The Saskatoon Public Library has announced it will be opening a new branch in the Stonebridge neighbourhood in 2016.
The new branch will be located near Preston Avenue and Hunter Road.
"We're pleased to be expanding library service in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the city," said Saskatoon Director of Libraries Zenon Zuzak in a release.
The library's lease agreement will allow for expansions in the future. When it opens, it will be 5,000 square feet.
Saskatoon Public Library says its top priority remains the development of a new central library. However, when it was approached by a development company last year about this new branch, the library decided it made sense to expand.
The new branch will cost around $1.3 million.
