Saskatoon's Meewasin Valley Authority will be outlining its plans at a meeting today after losing half of its provincial funding.

The 2017 provincial budget cut took away $409,000 from the authority, roughly half of the province's annual contribution of $909,000.

Before the cuts, the province contributed around 20 per cent of Meewasin's budget.

Last year, the authority shut down its interpretive centre in downtown Saskatoon, stating it didn't have enough money to keep it operating.

After the budget was released, CEO Lloyd Isaak said the group would try to work around the cut, including increasing fundraising.

Isaak told CBC the meeting will not be open to the public or the media. Meewasin will unveil its future plans to the public next week.
