Man shot in broad daylight on busy Saskatoon street

The victim, a 30-year-old man, told police he was walking when a man and a woman approached. The trio exchanged words, and then, according to the victim, the male suspect pulled out what appeared to be a .22 calibre gun and fired.

Police in Saskatoon are investigating a shooting that happened in broad daylight on a busy street outside of St. Paul's Hospital.

Police were called to the 1700 block of 20th Street West at about 1:00 p.m. CST Tuesday, according to a news release.

The victim of the shooting, a 30-year-old man, told police he was walking in the area when a man and a woman approached. The trio exchanged words then, according to the victim, the male suspect pulled out what appeared to be a .22 calibre gun and fired.

The victim made his own way to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound. Police said the 30-year-old victim is expected to recover.

There have been no arrests in this shooting.

The male suspect about 5'9" tall, with dark hair in a brush cut. He was wearing black jeans and a black jacket. The female suspect is also about 5'9" tall, with a thin build and long brown hair. She was wearing a khaki jacket and white pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

It's has been a busy five days for police in Saskatoon.

There have been three shootings, a homicide and an alleged assault on police.
