It may be a challenging situation, but SaskTel Centre says parking for next week's Garth Brooks concerts should run smoothly.

Brooks is playing six shows in the city next week, with two back-to-back concerts scheduled for Friday and Saturday night.

As a result, clearing the SaskTel Centre parking lot as another wave of concert-goers arrives could prove to be challenging.

However, spokespeople for the arena said they have a plan.

The arena is creating designated parking lots for the 10:30 p.m. shows on Friday and Saturday, so there won't be as much congestion as people enter and leave the lots.

SaskTel Centre has also acquired extra temporary parking in the area, including the Costco parking lot to deal with congestion, adding an extra 2,500 spots. As well, the 400 event staff will be parking off site that night.

As usual, the arena is asking that concert goers use Saskatoon Transit to get to and from the event site. Sixty shuttle buses will be running during the concerts, ferrying people in from three pick-up locations across the city, for $5/per ride. That's enough to accommodate 3,000 people.

Doors will open 90 minutes before the show to get fans in early. So, doors will be open by 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. As well, early customers can pre-scan their ticket outside the venue.

Ticket holders will get an email from SaskTel giving details about parking, times, and buses.

The10:30 p.m. shows won't start until everyone is in the arena.
