Dentist, mother part of celebrations Tuesday at Frances Morrison Central Library
Education has always been an important part of Dr. Fatima Coovadia's life.
On Tuesday evening, the Saskatoon dentist and mother will be part of the International Women's Day celebrations at the Frances Morrison Central Library theatre.
Coovadia told CBC Radio's Saskatchewan Weekend that she not only looks forward to celebrating wonderful and diverse women in Saskatoon, but strong women around the world like Malala Yousafzai.
"I just loved that she never backed down from her goal and her message," Coovadia said.
Coovadia said she always had strong family support to pursue education, and said she feels education is the hallmark of any society.
"Education is never wasted."
Even now as she dedicates time to being a mother, Coovadia said she hopes to continue learning and expanding her education.
The evening's events will include a screening of the film Unbreakable: One Girl Changing the World-The Story of Malala. Everything kicks off at 7:30 p.m. CST.
