10: River Monster terrorizes Saskatoon
People walking across Saskatoon's Sid Buckwold Bridge were convinced a strange object in the river was some sort of swimming creature. Turns out it wasn't.
Fire crews determined that the river monster was actually a piece of ice attached to a rope, stuck to the bottom of the river. Die-hard believers vow the REAL South Saskatchewan River Monster will be caught one day.
9: Protesters and Tory supporters greet Stephen Harper in Saskatoon
When the former Prime Minister made a campaign stop in Saskatoon this fall, he was greeted by dozens of protesters, many of them indigenous.
8: Gordie Howe honoured in Saskatoon
In what was billed as the hockey legend's last public appearance, Gordie Howe made an appearance at a Saskatoon dinner held in his honour. NHL greats like Wayne Gretzky, Bobby and Brett Hull and Lanny McDonald all made appearances.
7. Former Whitecap Dakota accountant Hugo Gallegos headed to prison
A former accountant at the Whitecap Dakota First Nation was given a five-year sentence after pleading guilty to stealing $5.8 million from the band. This emotional video is of Rose Royal, a member of the First Nation, speaking about the fraud.
6. Paddling in northern Saskatchewan in December
An unusually warm winter let Saskatchewan residents do all sorts of activities that are usually impossible at that time of year. Paddling an ice-free lake was one of them.
5. Footage released shows Regina police officer kicking a homeless man
Security footage used as evidence in the trial of Rob Power appears to show the Regina police officer kicking a homeless man. Power is back on the Regina police force as a patrol officer.
4. Driver slips through raging forest fire in northern Saskatchewan
The forest fires in northern Saskatchewan this summer forced more than 10,000 people to flee their homes. Michelle Hopper posted this video of a massive fire north of Montreal Lake
3. Regina Sikh Society holiday sign gets a lot of positive attention
Former president of the Sikh Society Kuldip Singh Sahota said his community is happy to embrace all religions and festivals. He hopes it helps build the community relationship between the Sikh Society and their neighbours.
2. Interactive beer pong table
Jeff Nybo from Saskatoon developed an interactive beer pong table, complete with LED lights, ball washer and a touch-sensitive tabletop that keeps score. His idea has gone from a Saskatchewan basement to the Facebook feeds of people around the world.

At the beginning of this year, police across Saskatchewan and Alberta seized guns and drugs, including significant amounts of counterfeit oxycontin and methamphetamine, in a major police investigation, dubbed Project Forseti, into organized crime.
