Man jumps from 3rd-storey balcony to escape Saskatoon apartment fire
A damage estimate from the blaze was not available on Saturday morning
The Saskatoon Fire Department is working to determine the cause of an apartment fire that forced a man to jump from a third-floor balcony.
Crews were called to the 500 block of Avenue X S. at roughly 2:30 a.m. Saturday. While en route, fire crews were able to see heavy smoke in the area.
Crews arrived to find third and fourth floor balconies on fire at the apartment block.
After successfully attacking the blaze from outside, firefighters were able to move inside the apartment suites to continue fighting the fire and to look for any victims.

The fire was under control in one hour, with crews searching other parts of the apartment block to determine the fire had not spread.
The man who jumped from the balcony was transported to hospital by ambulance with undetermined injuries.
A fire investigator has been called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. An estimate on damage was not available on Saturday morning.
