Woman choked, assaulted in downtown Regina alley: Police

Regina police are searching for a man they believe choked a woman until she became unconscious and then sexually assaulted her early Saturday morning.

Regina police are on the lookout for a suspect they believe choked a woman until she became unconscious and then sexually assaulted her early Saturday morning.

Regina police are looking for a man they believe choked and sexually assaulted a 28-year-old woman early Saturday morning.

The incident took place around 1 a.m. CST in an alley on the 2000 block of Cornwall Street.

Police say the man was on a mountain bike when he approached the woman. They say he got off his bike and assaulted her, choking her until she became unconscious. 

That's when police say he sexually assaulted her.

The woman regained consciousness and fled the area.

Officers later spoke to the woman in Regina Hospital.

Police issued the following description of the suspect:

  • Aboriginal man
  • Early 20s 
  • Thin build 
  • Five-feet-eleven-inches tall
  • Wearing a light blue shirt and blue jeans

Police are still investigating. They are asking anyone with more information to contact Regina Police or Crimestoppers.
