Windy Wednesday with snow in store for Saskatchewan
Saskatoon, Regina getting snow, slush, winds
There's lots of wind and snow in store for Saskatchewan today, but some areas will get hit worse than others.
Saskatoon residents woke up to snow this morning, while Regina remained relatively snow-free until around 8:30 a.m. when the precipitation started.
Later in the day, it's expected there will be high winds over a wide area, with gusts of 70 to 90 kilometres per hour.
With snow falling around much of Saskatchewan, that wind will create visibility problems on the highways, Environment Canada says.
"Regina itself shouldn't see too much. Generally I think we're just going to be looking at some flurry activity tied to the cold front. Maybe one or two centimetres at most."
At 6 a.m. CST, a strong cold front was moving west into the Moose Jaw.
The strong winds are expected to continue overnight, and then drop off Thursday afternoon.
