Tow trucks busy as temperatures hover around -30 C

Dead batteries abound this week

Another cold day, another dead car battery.

Towing companies have been busy all week working on car boosts, with some customers waiting hours.

Theo Welz, who's with ABC Central Towing in Regina, says in this cold — with temperatures around -30 C in the morning —  all bets are off.

"Your battery can be weak or not strong enough to turn the vehicle over in this weather. And you could have it plugged in forever and it's still not going to start," he said.

The weather will ease up a bit tonight.

It's going to range between -14 and -23 for central areas.

With the wind factored in, it will still feel like it's about -30.
