Team Sask stacks 2017 Canada Games roster
More than 300 athletes from 73 communities will represent the province in Winnipeg
Sam Seshadri always dreamed of making Team Sask and this year the 17-year-old's wish came true.
Team Sask announced their full staff and team rosters for the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
"It's been a great experience and a great team environment to be in," said Sam Seshadri, a triathlete from Saskatoon. "I watched the last team go and I've just been really inspired to do the best I can."
A total of 325 athletes and 99 coaches, managers and other staff from 73 communities across the province will represent Saskatchewan this year from July 28 to August 13.
Keelin Kennedy didn't make the women's soccer team for Team Sask when she tried out two years ago, but the Saskatoon-native didn't let that bring her down this time around.
"Putting on the [team jersey] is something that you can't express how important it is and how proud and honoured I feel to have this opportunity," said Kennedy.
This year marks the games' 50th anniversary.
Team Sask also unveiled their new line of official clothing before Mosaic Stadium opened its doors to an afternoon soccer match between the New York Cosmos and the Spanish Premier League's Team Valencia.
