The past year will be remembered in many different ways, depending in large part on who you are and where you live.

For stargazing photographers in Saskatchewan, 2015 will go down as the year of the northern lights.

Ragnar Robinson captured these incredible images in La Ronge on Jan. 31.

"I took this photo when I was driving to Edmonton in August last year. Believe it or not, I shot this without a tripod because I had forgotten it in Saskatoon; I had to place my camera on my car and angle it upwards and hold it in place using rocks and a timed shutter release," Parker wrote.

"After many exposures, I finally got the right shot. This photo was taken somewhere close to the Alberta border."

During the first week of January 2016, Blair Knox took these photos east of Saskatoon.

"The lights were amazing and I also found a coyote den with the Aurora and moon over top of them," Knox said.
