Saskatchewan Health Minister Dustin Duncan says Alberta's move to ban minors from using tanning beds is making him do some more thinking about Saskatchewan's position.

After the change in Alberta, Saskatchewan will be the only remaining province in Canada that does not ban youths from using the machines.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Duncan said tanning restrictions are now something that will be discussed.

Duncan, who said last year he wanted to see what other jurisdictions are doing, had nothing concrete to announce but said only that the government will look at the idea of restrictions for minors.

The Canadian Cancer Society has repeatedly called on the Saskatchewan government to toughen its rules, citing research linking tanning beds to melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer.
