Saskatchewan artist Rich Loffler has become a cyberspace sensation after his son Michael posted a photo gallery outlining how his father creates his impressive bronze sculptures to the website Reddit.

The photo gallery was created on the site imgur.com.

More than 500,000 upvotes have been counted for the post, something that completely surprised Loffler.

"At first did not know anything about it. I didn't even know there was thing called Reddit," the artist told CBC Radio Host Craig Lederhouse of The Afternoon Edition. "He just kinda took it upon himself as a project."

Loffler was already a well-regarded sculptor with pieces in the permanent collections of art galleries across North America.

Son Michael said he went to Reddit because he wanted to show off his father's talents.

"It's not exactly a normal job for people to have so you forget how kinda cool it is," the younger Loffler said. "So I figured why not give it some exposure and see what other people think of it as well?"

The photo gallery provides insight into the complex and long process behind the creation of Loffler's works.
