Roughriders hire Jacques Chapdelaine as offensive co-ordinator
Coaching veteran has 2 Grey Cups to his name
Jacques Chapdelaine will be calling the signals for the Saskatchewan Roughriders offence next season, the CFL team has announced.
The veteran CFL assistant is a two-time Grey Cup champion as offensive co-ordinator with the B.C. Lions.
He joins the Riders in the same position after spending last season as head coach at Simon Fraser University.
Chapdelaine, 53, replaces George Cortez, whose contract was not renewed.
The Riders have been shaking up their coaching staff in recent days following a disappointing season. The team started strong but struggled after quarterback Darian Durant injured his throwing arm at the Banjo Bowl in Winnipeg.
The Riders announced recently that Richie Hall will not be coming back next season as defensive co-ordinator.
