The Regina Pats held off a third-period rally from the Red Deer Rebels to win their 10th consecutive game on Sunday.

The Pats doubled up the Rebels 8-4.

Connor Hobbs and Filip Ahl scored two goals each for the Pats.

Red Deer goalie Lasse Petersen was peppered by the Pats throughout the game. Petersen faced 61 shots, making 53 saves.

Red Deer winger Austin Pratt opened scoring in the game as the Rebels took a 1-0 lead nine minutes into the first period.

The Pats fired back after that, scoring four unanswered goals.

Carson Sass then scored for Red Deer, but the Pats took a commanding 6-2 lead into the third period after two late goals from Sam Steel and Filip Ahl.

The third period saw some bounce back from Red Deer as they rallied to make it 6-4 in what was looking like a potential comeback. Jeff de Wit and Brandon Hagel scored for the Rebels two minutes and 18 seconds apart in the third.

But the Pats held off the rally and Hobbs was able to score a dagger to kill the comeback at 15:09.

Jake Leschyshyn scored the insurance eighth and final goal for the Pats at 18:36.

The Pats have not lost a game since Oct. 12 against the Portland Winterhawks.

The Pats will now embark on a lengthy six-game road trip.

They will be back in Regina on Dec. 3 when they host the Prince Albert Raiders.
