Brent Parker, the president of the Regina Pats hockey team has resigned.

Parker announced he was leaving the Western Hockey League team Tuesday at a press conference in Regina.

It comes days after it was learned the team's head coach, Pat Conacher, is also leaving.

Parker has been with the club since his family purchased the team in the 90s. He said he decided it was time for a new chapter in his life and he would no longer have any involvement with the club.

"It wasn't just a job," Parker said. "It was something that I really had a passion for and enjoyed. But the fun had left."
