Businesses in Regina offering deals to veterans, military personnel
Some stores and businesses in Saskatchewan are saluting people from the military this week.
This week, Cabela's is hosting what it calls a hometown heroes appreciation event across Canada to honour veterans, active duty military and reserves, Canadian Coast Guard, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel and conservation officers.
People in those fields can obtain discounts.
"The reason why everyone does it for the veterans that gave their lives, their families, and everyone there gave it for us," David Maynes, operations manager at Cabela's said. "We want to at least do this for them."
In Regina, the fishing and hunting retailer has scheduled a number of displays, appreciation days and events:
- RCMP meet & greet (Nov. 13 1-3 p.m.)
- Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association (Nov. 14 &15 11 a.m.–4 p.m.)
- Qu'Appelle Health Region Emergency Medical Services - (Nov. 14 10 a.m.-3 p.m.)
- Regina's 2370 Army Cadets (Nov. 14 11 a.m.-4 p.m.)
- 155 Royal Regina Rifle Army Cadets – (Nov. 15 11 a.m.-4 p.m.)
- Search & Rescue Regina – (Nov. 14,15 10 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Meanwhile, GoodLife Fitness is giving Canadian veterans and those in active duty free access to all its fitness clubs across Canada for the month of November
