The first football game to be held at the brand new Mosaic Stadium is a sellout — as far as single tickets go.

As of Friday, the only way to see the Oct. 1 game is to buy $80 packages that cover other games. And only a small number of those "flex" packages are left.

As a result, the "fall classic" game between the University of Regina Rams and the Saskatchewan Huskies will have some 16,000 fans in attendance, shattering the old record for a Canada West game by about 6,000 people.

The game is considered to be a trial run for the $286-million stadium, designed to test how everything — washrooms, public address systems, elevators, parking, and security — is working.

The stadium will be the new home for the Canadian Football League's Saskatchewan Roughriders starting in the 2017 season.

Those who still want to get into the historic game via a flex package can go to www.reginarams.com, the Rams administration office (306-585-5480), www.riderville.com, www.ticketmaster.ca, or through the Saskatchewan Roughriders box office (1-888-4-RIDERS).
