Ralph Goodale to attend U.S. state dinner, meet with counterpart over border security
Public safety minister joins Justin Trudeau, delegates for official White House visit
Regina MP and Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale is in Washington D.C. today, along with Justin Trudeau, as he and a delegation of federal officials meet their U.S. counterparts.
Along with attending the U.S. state dinner hosted by President Obama and Michelle Obama at 7 p.m. ET, Goodale is scheduled for a luncheon with Secretary of State John Kerry and a meeting with Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson.
According to a spokesperson in Goodale's office, the meeting with Johnson is where the two will work on the details of strengthening border security between the two countries.
On Thursday morning, Goodale tweeted out some details about his trip to the Capitol.
